National Moth Week
July 20 - July 28
Held worldwide during the last full week of July, National Moth Week celebrates the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths. Scientists estimate that there are 150,000-500,000 moth species, of all colors and patterns and ranging in size from as small as a pinhead to as large as an adult’s hand.
Enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are encouraged to become “Citizen Scientists” during this week and contribute scientific data about moths by researching, observing, and documenting moths in their own communities.
